We got in the safe!!

Hey, everyone! I can't believe all this stuff is happening. I have to give a huge shoutout to Janice, Holdan, and Justin on Facebook who helped me figure out what was going on with these pictures. (And Liam, of course!!) We were right - the pictures were hiding something, and that something was a safe combination written in the sky. I immediately knew what safe that was. My dad has an old red safe up in the attic and I've never seen what's inside of it. My mom always gets upset any time I go up there... Last time I actually got in trouble.

So as soon as she left from work, I went up there! I brought Liam and Olivia with me for moral support. I don't know what I expected to find inside... a secret passage, a will, some letter he wrote me... I had no clue.

What we found was really interesting and I know we're on the track of something really bizarre.

The safe contained:

- "The Time Machine" by H. G. Wells (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Time_Machine)
- Some of my little kid pictures

- A folder with stuff about Devou Park - it had these postcards and this newspaper clipping:

- A password-protected CD

So we took a video while we sorted through everything. Here it is:

I feel like the message definitely came from my dad, now, since I'm in his safe - but I still don't know who C.P. is and why there's so much weird stuff going on. I wonder if they will contact me again.

Thanks for all your help guys!

I don't know what to think

Okay, guys, so this is going to be a little different than usual. I don't know exactly what to think other than the fact that I'm really weirded out and I could use some help. For those of you that know me well, you'd know that my dad died when I was eleven. It's not something that I like to talk about very much, but just so you know, it was a car accident while he was on his way home from work. My mom especially doesn't like talking about my dad. Any time he comes up in conversation, she gets really upset and finds a way to either change the subject or leave the room. I know it's probably not the best way to deal with loss, but it's our way, I suppose, and that's just how it is.

This morning after breakfast, my mom sent me out to get the mail, because she'd forgotten to get it the day before. I said sure and ran out there to grab it. We'd gotten a few bills and advertisements and what not, but then I saw there was an envelope addressed to me. I never get mail. But what made it weird was the fact that it was obviously dropped in there by the sender rather than going through the postal service. There were no addresses or stamps - it just said "Jennie Sullivan" on the front.

Curious, I opened it right away. Inside were three sheets of paper. The first two were big colorful collages and the third was a slip of paper that said, "Your dad asked me to give this to you. -C.P."

I can't explain the weird feeling that came over me when I saw that. My heart kind of skipped a beat and I felt incredibly creeped out. There are so many things that are strange about the note.

First of all, I have no idea who "C.P." is. And whoever they are, why did they wait almost ten years to give me something from my dad? And why did they do it in such a secretive way? Why not just come right over and give it to me?

I walked back into the house and I thought about showing it all to my mom, but I didn't know how she'd react. So I just handed her the rest of the mail and asked, "Do we know anybody named C.P?"

She just shrugged and said no, she couldn't think of anyone. Then I asked her if my dad was an artist. I guess the question was really random, because she looked startled. She quickly shook her head and said, "No, he wasn't," and grabbed her coffee cup, leaving the room.

I've been sitting in my room for the past few hours just staring at these pictures. I don't know why my dad would want me to have them, or why ten years after his death, I'd suddenly get them in such a strange way. I feel like this is important, but I can't figure out how or why.

I called Liam and he said to take scans and email them to him so he can help me out. I figured, if I'm going to do that, I might as well share them with you. Can you guys help me out? Help me look at these pictures and figure out what they mean. I know there's something important in here and I just don't know what it is.

Thanks for helping me, guys. Let me know if you figure anything out.

I'm trying to decide when to take my favorite classes: Zumba, Kickboxing, and Cycling. I'm also thinking about trying yoga.

I think yoga is super elegant and looks really relaxing and healthy. Any thoughts?

Sushi Love!

Today is Tuesday, which means it's half price sushi rolls at Mikayo's!!

I don't know about you guys, but I am all about some sushi. My favorite place to get sushi right now is Mikayo's.

http://www.miyakorestaurant.com/

Pretty much everything on their menu is awesome, but my favorite is the bagel roll!

The bagel roll is salmon, cream cheese, and rice with a seaweed wrap and tempura. It's heaven in your mouth. When it comes to the table, it's still warm: the salmon is still raw, but the cream cheese is kinda melty. Wow, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Remember people: Tuesday nights!! Half price sushi rolls! Go get some! =)

GOETTA!

Goettafest is right around the corner, and since I've neglected this little bloggy the past couple weeks, I thought I would take the time to write a GOOD update and tell about a Cincinnati fave: goetta!

This amazingness is goetta:

Wikipedia:  "Goetta is a breakfast sausage of likely German-American origin that is popular in the greater Cincinnati area. It is primarily composed of ground meat (pork, or pork and beef) and steel-cut oats. Pronounced gétt-aa, ged-da or get-uh Americanized pronunciation, this dish probably originated with German settlers from the northwestern regions of Oldenburg, Hannover, and Westphalia who emigrated to the Cincinnati area in the 19th century. The word "Goetta" comes from the Low German word götte. However, some believe that goetta originated as a haggis substitute, brought to Ohio via Scots-Irish migrants by way of Kentucky."

All I can say is... it is a thing of deliciousness :D

This weekend is Goettafest!

Goettafest is an awesome experience. They have games, music, and of course... GOETTA! All you can eat in any style you can imagine.

All I can say is... I can't wait! Hope to see you there!
