Who is my dad?

I know... the title is kind of strange. But ever since Monday, I've started to get become aware just how little I knew about my dad, and question everything.

I'm sorry it's taken me a couple days to get back with you guys. I'm just really... overwhelmed right now, like I can't explain it. Sorry, but this is gonna be long.

You know those magical stories your read about when you're a kid? About dragons, monsters, magical swords, wizards... time travel? You just take for granted that the things that you can't see happening aren't real. Of course dragons aren't real because people would have seen them and talked about them.

But how much do you REALLY know? Have you been everywhere in the world? Can you swear 100% that there are absolutely NO dragons out there? No, you can't. Because you haven't BEEN everywhere. The reason we believe that there are no dragons is because we trust other people. We believe the people that HAVE been to those places. We believe the scientists and historians that say that dragons don't exist. But what if they were wrong too?

I feel like I'm starting to sound like Carl.

Let me backtrack a bit and explain what's going on in my head here.

Last update, you guys saw that Holdan and Joseph had discovered that burning the wires reshaped them into letters. Holdan suggested that the letters went together in a particular order to make the password to my Dad's CD.

They were right.

Eric and Janice stayed up late rearranging the letters and Janice realized that the letters, backwards, spelled ELEVENELVES. The password got us all into the folder, but once inside, we found a "Documents" folder, with six more password-protected folders, and then more folders full of hundreds of useless files with a .bin extension.

The next morning, Liam's Facebook status suddenly updated to, "‎73462 2482647275.png SATOR AREPO." He wasn't the one that posted the status though, so we knew it must have been the person that keeps sending us these messages. 73462 was the name of a folder in the files, and 2482647275.bin was one of the files. Only this said .png. So when we changed the file extension, we can see that the file is actually an image.

Holdan realized that SATOR AREPO was a hint at something called a Sator Square. According to Wikipedia, "The Sator Square is a word square containing a Latin palindrome featuring the words SATOR AREPO TENET OPERA ROTAS written in a square so that they may be read top-to-bottom, bottom-to-top, left-to-right, and right-to-left. "

The image in the files, then, must be a Sator Square. Janice worked with the letter bank and the clues from the images to come up with the solution:

MAD
ATA
DAM

Or, mad at a dam. Then she realized that one of the locked folders in the Documents folder was titled, "Hoover", so she tried using madatadam as the password. And it worked!

Here's Janice's screenshot, which she shared on Facebook.

The first thing in the folder appeared to be some sort of official document, full of cryptic information that my dad wrote. (Mark Sullivan... only, what does TTG 3rd Class mean?)

The second thing is a journal article written by my dad. He actually talked about me in it, saying I was almost two.

Then Janice found this image... 484269301.bin in 46842:

And she solved it too, but didn't post the answer. She did, however, post the contents that are inside.

This is a court summons... or something like it. Only it's not from the government exactly, it's from the "TTG" or "The Guild". And it accuses my dad of breaking a bunch of "Guild Charter" rules and it sounds serious.

It's also dated two days before my dad died.

Janice then opened a third folder when she discovered this image 72746542.bin in 19873:

She solved it as:

MAPS
ATOP
POTA
SPAM

And of course mapsatoppotaspam got us into the "Canned" folder.

And... for the first time... we get a glimpse at C.P! It looks like he really was a real person... a person that knew my dad, that obviously worked with him. And they were friends.

Only it looks like C.P.'s scared of getting in trouble.

Geez... some guy named "James" is referenced in the first folder, where Dad says "I'll end up like James if I don't keep my mouth shut." Then my Dad gets summoned to court two days before he dies. And there's C.P. in this folder, afraid of breaking the Guild Charter.

Do you think C.P. is actually trying to get our help or something? Like we're supposed to save him from the same fate as James and Dad?

Janice found more images that seem to match the titles of the rest of the locked folders. We desperately need your help to solve them.

321425794.bin in 53908 appears to go to the Judge folder:

752468934.bin in 98731 appears to go to the Sistine folder (holy crap that looks hard):

And 1412462002.bin in 68492 appears to go to the Honda folder (gah... even harder):

Omg. They obviously just get harder as they go.

I have been really weirded out the past couple days and just keep reading the documents over and over. I actually printed them off and keep them with me all the time so I can constantly reread them. I've been taking notes all over them and here are some things I've found:

1. The seal on two of them is a sphinx, and it matches the sphinx from The Time Machine by H. G. Wells. This kinda makes sense because they use the term "Time Traveller" which is how it's spelled in the book, even though it's usually spelled Traveler.
2. Something bad happened to James... Dad was called to court two days before he died... C.P. is scared of breaking the rules. Connection?
3. TTG, The Guild, and Time Traveller's Guild -> all the same group
4. Merz und Mahler - definitely sounds like German. I seem to recall that a lot of Germans populated Cincinnati in the early days.

Also... I guess the most obvious thing to think is what Janice commented on my wall:

I know that this is really the only logical idea! I just... CAN'T seem to grasp the idea that my dad was a time traveller... or that time travel itself is even possible. But what did we say about dragons? We only believe it doesn't exist because we've never seen it ourselves and trust the rest of the world that says it's not possible.

But what if they're wrong?

I feel like I'm being sucked into a strange movie. I just really hope there's a happy ending... which I'm afraid might not happen, after the incident at Devou.

Which, speaking of... now I'm wondering why somebody attacked me. Who could it have been? Not C.P, right? Because he wants my help?

I don't know what to think. Please help. :(

BURN THE WIRES! :D

I can barely type out of excitement. I just had to get on here and update you guys on the little wires.

Recap: So after I was attacked at Devou Park and concussed, I spent the night in the hospital. When I woke up the next morning, a towel was sitting on the rolling stand by my bed. When I picked it up, all these tiny notebooks fell out. There were eleven of them, and they had names written on the back of some of you guys who have been helping me out on Facebook! So with Liam's help, we got them out to you guys. Each notebook had a black wire binding it, and 4 pages:

Page 1 - Had a "lucky time". Janice figured out that if you rotated the notebooks, you'd get an o'clock. It looks like they all go in order!
Page 2 - Had the phrase "Enlightenment comes to those who find the right words at the right time."
Page 3 - Had the phrase "Wood already touched by fire is not hard to set alight."
Page 4 - They have little riddles.

A weird guy ran into Eric on campus and gave him another notebook. Eric noticed that it had black soot coming off of the wire. Joseph made the connection between a burned wire and the phrase, "Wood already touched by fire is not hard to set alight."

Holdan and Joseph decided to take a risk and burn their wires, since they would not be "hard to set alight." I was SHOCKED at the result, which they were so awesome to record for us!!

Holdan suggests that you all burn your wires and see what letters you get. He also has a theory that the letters will add up to make the password to my dad's CD. I cannot WAIT to see what files are on there.

I have to admit that after I watched this video I cried. I have such a huge range of emotion going on right now. Not only am I so overwhelmed with all this stuff being related to my dad, but I'm also kind of scared after being attacked. The best feeling of all, though, is knowing that you guys are all looking out for me. I keep saying that I don't know what I would do without you, and it's so true. I can't thank you guys enough for your brilliance and willingness to help me with all these crazy clues and weirdness!

I love you all and I can't wait to see what happens next!

Updates for you guys!

My mom brought me my laptop so I can finally update you guys on what's been going on here!

So yesterday I went to check out Devou Park. It was getting dark so I couldn't see that well, but I was just really determined to get more clues to what's going on. My own real-life mystery. It's insane.

So if you've been following everything on Facebook, you already know that THIS happened...

And then just this morning, THIS happened:

Thanks for all your help, guys... be careful out there!!

We got in the safe!!

Hey, everyone! I can't believe all this stuff is happening. I have to give a huge shoutout to Janice, Holdan, and Justin on Facebook who helped me figure out what was going on with these pictures. (And Liam, of course!!) We were right - the pictures were hiding something, and that something was a safe combination written in the sky. I immediately knew what safe that was. My dad has an old red safe up in the attic and I've never seen what's inside of it. My mom always gets upset any time I go up there... Last time I actually got in trouble.

So as soon as she left from work, I went up there! I brought Liam and Olivia with me for moral support. I don't know what I expected to find inside... a secret passage, a will, some letter he wrote me... I had no clue.

What we found was really interesting and I know we're on the track of something really bizarre.

The safe contained:

- "The Time Machine" by H. G. Wells (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Time_Machine)
- Some of my little kid pictures

- A folder with stuff about Devou Park - it had these postcards and this newspaper clipping:

- A password-protected CD

So we took a video while we sorted through everything. Here it is:

I feel like the message definitely came from my dad, now, since I'm in his safe - but I still don't know who C.P. is and why there's so much weird stuff going on. I wonder if they will contact me again.

Thanks for all your help guys!

I don't know what to think

Okay, guys, so this is going to be a little different than usual. I don't know exactly what to think other than the fact that I'm really weirded out and I could use some help. For those of you that know me well, you'd know that my dad died when I was eleven. It's not something that I like to talk about very much, but just so you know, it was a car accident while he was on his way home from work. My mom especially doesn't like talking about my dad. Any time he comes up in conversation, she gets really upset and finds a way to either change the subject or leave the room. I know it's probably not the best way to deal with loss, but it's our way, I suppose, and that's just how it is.

This morning after breakfast, my mom sent me out to get the mail, because she'd forgotten to get it the day before. I said sure and ran out there to grab it. We'd gotten a few bills and advertisements and what not, but then I saw there was an envelope addressed to me. I never get mail. But what made it weird was the fact that it was obviously dropped in there by the sender rather than going through the postal service. There were no addresses or stamps - it just said "Jennie Sullivan" on the front.

Curious, I opened it right away. Inside were three sheets of paper. The first two were big colorful collages and the third was a slip of paper that said, "Your dad asked me to give this to you. -C.P."

I can't explain the weird feeling that came over me when I saw that. My heart kind of skipped a beat and I felt incredibly creeped out. There are so many things that are strange about the note.

First of all, I have no idea who "C.P." is. And whoever they are, why did they wait almost ten years to give me something from my dad? And why did they do it in such a secretive way? Why not just come right over and give it to me?

I walked back into the house and I thought about showing it all to my mom, but I didn't know how she'd react. So I just handed her the rest of the mail and asked, "Do we know anybody named C.P?"

She just shrugged and said no, she couldn't think of anyone. Then I asked her if my dad was an artist. I guess the question was really random, because she looked startled. She quickly shook her head and said, "No, he wasn't," and grabbed her coffee cup, leaving the room.

I've been sitting in my room for the past few hours just staring at these pictures. I don't know why my dad would want me to have them, or why ten years after his death, I'd suddenly get them in such a strange way. I feel like this is important, but I can't figure out how or why.

I called Liam and he said to take scans and email them to him so he can help me out. I figured, if I'm going to do that, I might as well share them with you. Can you guys help me out? Help me look at these pictures and figure out what they mean. I know there's something important in here and I just don't know what it is.

Thanks for helping me, guys. Let me know if you figure anything out.

I'm trying to decide when to take my favorite classes: Zumba, Kickboxing, and Cycling. I'm also thinking about trying yoga.

I think yoga is super elegant and looks really relaxing and healthy. Any thoughts?
