Lomo Photoshop Technique

If you've got the Curves Layer technique down, you're not far at all from the Lomo Photography technique. I followed this tutorial:

I tried it on my photo of the ferris wheel in Chicago. I think it's very dramatic and vintage looking. :)

More Fun With Curves! :D

So I'm having lots of fun with the Curves Layer. See my last post for more info. I messed with the Curves layer on this photo from the Shaker Village and I -love- the results.

Curves Layer - New Profile Pic :)

So I needed a new profile picture for my blog, and I thought it would be fun to show you guys how I shopped my photo. It was really fun and it only took 2 seconds! There is only one layer changed.

This technique just took one layer! Just add a new layer called Curves. You can do that in the bottom right corner of the Layers window, click the one that looks like a circle, and choose "Curves."

Then drag the line into a sort of S-shape.

Ta-da! You're done! :)

Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill

Nobody should ever pass up an opportunity to visit the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, KY. It's absolutely gorgeous and takes you right back in time. I can't wait to visit again! Check out their website for more info (http://www.shakervillageky.org/) and definitely take the time to go yourself. We didn't have reservations at the restaurant and since it's such a busy place, we had a two hour wait. It was perfect, though! Those two hours gave us plenty of time to walk the whole area and take lots of great pictures.

Enjoy the picturesque beauty. These are completely un-shopped, but I imagine they'll be great for trying different techniques later...

I feel like the barn photo should be a 1000-piece puzzle. Haha! :)

New Photoshop Technique - Mini Models :)

So I decided to try a new photo editing technique. It's where you take a regular photograph of buildings and shop them to look like your photo is of a model. Here is some more info on the technique:

So here's my attempt with some photos of downtown Cincy :D

It's my first attempt with this technique and I think it makes it look SO COOL! It really kind of warps your perspective and makes things look so different.

I'll definitely do some more of these in the future. I think I'm obsessed. :)

I can just imagine sitting in this beauty when it was brand new... wouldn't it be incredible to live in the fourties or fifties and see these classic vintage cars brand new?
